A significant part of Open House effort's go toward school children. The Junior Open House project, for example, has now worked with tens of thousands of London children and their teachers in using architecture as a part of the learning curriculum. The benefits are many, including simply exposing young minds to the variety and richness that London can make available to them, suggesting new values and engendering a concern and a degree of literacy with regard to all the dimensions of architecture. The aim is not to promote architecture or to foster young architects, but to help London's inner city children to enjoy a positive and creative attitude, to expose them to what is out their, to open doors to young minds. |

| Open House reaches out to four key sectors: to the general public, to decision-makers, to private and commercial organisations, and to children. | Open House aims to furnish you with the language, tools and, most of all, the experience that will encourage your active participation and voice in the making and enjoyment of London. The Open House annual event is one way we do this. Others include the London Exemplar programme, Learning by Design publications for the educational establishment, Junior Open House visits and workshops for schools, the My City Too campaign and other projects all aimed at you, the general public. We are not affiliated with any professional organisation. |
